Sahaj Marg teaches that the word ‘master’ has nothing to do with authority over others but rather refers to one who has achieved self-mastery and whose life is dedicated to serving others in the pursuit of their spiritual goal. In the Sahaj Marg tradition, the master utilizes transmission, which we can think of as the essence of divinity, to help us progress. The current living Master and president of Shri Ram Chandra Mission is Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari, affectionately known as Chariji, or Chari.
