Release of the book 'THE AUTHENTIC YOGA' by P.Y. Deshpande

As we come to the end of 2021, we wish all of you a very Happy New Year.

To help us on our way to a better 2022, the Heartfulness Education Trust is delighted to announce the official release of a special edition of The Authentic Yoga by Purushottam Yeshwant Deshpande, a book that offers a unique perspective and profound commentary on how Yoga can improve our lives.

This "rare treasure," in Daaji's words, will be released on 3 January 2022 by The Honourable Minister of AYUSH, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Swami Ramdevji Maharaj, and Daaji, at Kanha Shanti Vanam during the inauguration of the 750 Million Surya Namaksar Challenge.

This book is a must-read for those who wish to understand the true purpose and nature of Yoga, and is thought to be P.Y. Deshpande’s most outstanding work, P.Y. was an original thinker who is known for his idealism, as well as his extensive knowledge, brilliance, emotional intensity, intellectual honesty, and inquiry on the destiny of humankind.

This edition has an additional chapter by Daaji, who presents the next evolution of yogic practices so that all who are interested may experience the benefits of Yoga directly. In this chapter, Daaji says, "The Authentic Yoga by P.Y. Deshpande is one of the purest, most thought-provoking treatises on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, and this is a reflection of the fact that it has been written in the original spirit of Yoga itself, that is, as a record of the author’s findings through direct perception, which P.Y. calls 'pure seeing.' He has not referred to any other author’s explanations of the Sutras, only to the wisdom that has bubbled up from within himself through the process of pure seeing."
