European Tour, Part 8

Monday, 25th of May 2015, European seminar, Vrads Sande, Denmark

Last satsang, last meal, last walk

This was the day of departure for most abhyasis. The early morning was quite like other mornings:

  • the kitchen volunteers woke early to prepare the fresh bread, food and drinks,
  • the transport desk was open and functioning, helping the abhyasis to their respective buses and cars to leave for the train station and airport, and
  • the meditation tent was warmed up early by the heaters.

Kamlesh bhai conducted satsang at 7.30 a.m. as usual, and that was followed by breakfast, which he ate with everyone in the dining tent one last time before the end of the seminar.

After his breakfast, Kamlesh bhai had an important meeting. During that time, a few abhyasis left presents and letters without disturbing him. At 10.30 a.m. the age group of twelve to eighteen had another Heartfulness session, and one boy shared his experience with the group: he asked his parents to do the relaxation at night for him and slept so nicely. There was general feedback that the meditation time was too short the previous day so the meditation was increased to fifteen minutes.

After a talk with a few young adolescents on midbrain activation, Kamlesh bhai conducted the 11.30 a.m. satsang. The abhyasis who had not met him before were asked to sit in the first two rows so that they could have contact with him, and it was a heartwarming meeting for all of them. These abhyasis were open-hearted about not demanding individual meetings with the Master. The words of Kamlesh bhai came to life with this experience that “Distance does not matter.”

He went to the cottage after satsang and worked in his room for a while. Then he left for the same house in the village that he visited the previous evening and had lunch there with around forty abhyasis. There was food in the garden and also inside the house. Kamlesh bhai was showing videos on Heartfulness and midbrain activation. After the lunch was over, the four daughters of the house sang two songs in English, with their mother at the piano. The mother stepped away from the piano for the last song that all five of them sang together in Danish. The music was beautiful, and the voices touched souls with transmission pouring. Kamlesh bhai returned to the cottage and took rest for a while before the 5 p.m. satsang.

After satsang he gave a talk, excerpts of which are given here:

Home is where the heart is

Kamlesh bhai started by saying that it is time to say goodbye and talked about where home is. He recalled a brother's experience at the time of Babuji who never felt at home in his country but when he came to India he felt at home in Shahjahanpur. He concluded that his home was actually where Babuji Maharaj was. Kamlesh bhai said that the true home is within our heart and we must have a permanent contact with our heart.

Spiritual condition

We fail to recognise the complete impact and significance of the spiritual conditions given to us. We are not able to mingle with them. During the process of coming out of meditation, we seem to lose something. Connecting ourselves with our mind can’t make it a dynamic process. We have to let something flow outside, to externalise the inner experience, to really have control over it.

The path is the destination

Let your conscious mind dive into the subconsciousness and the true experience will come. The very process of achieving that will become a joyous process, and the path itself will becomes the destination. We have to experience it at a conscious level, not only at the subconscious level, as this makes it dynamic.

After satsang, Kamlesh bhai met groups of abhyasis from different countries – Finland, Sweden and others. He then did some work after that and ate a last dinner at Vrads. During the dinner, he was reflecting on quantum theories and being the observer in scientific experiments. He expanded this idea to meditation where a state of 'nil' or almost 'nil' is to be achieved to be completely unprejudiced and neutral about the 'reading' of the condition and the work being done.

There were fewer and fewer abhyasis outside as buses left the ashram one after the other. The dining tent was empty as the main house became the dining room for the remaining abhyasis. Kamlesh bhai went for a last walk after dinner and farewelled all the abhyasis going in the buses back to their accommodation. He also spent some time talking with children and met others who were around. He then worked on his emails and a short night of sleep started.

Time for goodbyes

The day started at 3.30 a.m., abhyasis running here and there getting ready with their luggage and anticipating the departure of Kamlesh bhai. He worked a little before leaving and farewelled all the abhyasis present when he left. It was a very sweet moment and any sadness was quickly replaced by the last few words of the previous day’s ending speech, “I look forward to meeting all of you again.”
