Bulletin No: 2015.130 – Wednesday December 2, 2015

Dear sisters and brothers,

Chennai has been on the weather map very frequently of late and some of you have been sending emails asking about the status of Manapakkam Ashram.

The Ashram managed well the downpours for the last few weeks but the rains that have lashed Chennai and several parts of Tamilnadu in the last few days has had its toll.

On Tuesday, 1st of December '2015, in the evening, water breached the "Sahaj River" and inundated several parts of the ashram. All dormitories, residential blocks, kitchen, ashram office, even cottage is flooded. Rains are still pouring and situation is a little bit tense. All residents have safely been moved out to nearby places (like Garden of Hearts etc.) and some are housed in Admin block which is on a higher ground. We have managed to secure majority of the movable assets to safer places.

From preliminary looks and based on past experiences from 2005 & 2008, it might be a few weeks before normalcy returns to Manapakkam Ashram. Hence, the ashram would remain closed to all visitors (including local abhyasis) till further notice. There will not be any Satsanghs in BMA, Manapakkam, till further notice.

Abhyasis who have planned to visit BMA, Manapakkam, are advised to cancel their travel plans.

We will issue further updates based on need.
