West Coast Ashram Announcement

After a search covering many locations over many years, and with many hearts yearning in unison all across North America, on 22nd September 2010 our Revered Master blessed us all with the procurement of a property that will become the West Coast Ashram for all North American abhyasis. We anticipate a completion date of April 2011.

The property of 2.6 acres (1 hectare) nestled near the scenic hills of California including a building of about 35,000 sq ft (3.900 sq. meters) which was once was a bowling facility, when completed will be a site capable of accommodating 650 abhyasis and sufficient parking. This facility will also contain offices, a bookstore, a library, children’s areas, an area for individual sittings, and a quiet reflection area.

The site is located in the Silicon Valley of California, in the city of Fremont, with easy access to public transit: a) an hour’s drive from the San Francisco International Airport, b) 40 minutes from the Oakland International Airport, c) 30 minutes from the San Jose International Airport, and d) one mile (1.6 km) from the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station with connects to many cities in the region. The ashram will serve the 200 active abhyasis residing within a 100 miles (160 km) radius of the site. Once up and running, the West Coast Ashram will soon become a “spiritual magnet” and draw many more seekers to the Mission.

Many brothers and sisters have contributed in many ways to realize this vision with their donations of cash and kind. It is fair to say that the excitement generated by this project has only just begun and we will all continue to work together towards this wonderful goal, by serving in our own capacities and by bringing our hearts together to develop this property into an ashram.

Thank you all for your continued support and best wishes. We encourage everyone to participate in this milestone for the Mission and enjoy the opportunity to be in His service.
