The love of three boys

There is an old story about three boys, who loved the same girl. They had all divine qualities. One could see to the end of this universe, for instance. Another could walk seven hundred miles in one step and the third could do something similarly miraculous. And one day this girl died. She was buried in a kabristan (cemetery).

An old man, a saint comes and says, " You know, hidden beyond the seven seas and the seven mountains and the seven dungeons, past the seven dragons there is this golden vessel in which there is a medicine which, if brought and put on the lips of this dead girl, will make her live again."
So the far seer looks and says, "I have located it."
The far walker says, "Come, climb on my shoulders. We will go."
The third man says, "Leave me to my peace here. I am tortured by her death. I cannot leave."
And he is literally lying in the kabristan weeping his heart out. Eventually these two boys go locate the medicine, and quickly come back with it. They open the kabristan and put the medicine on the girl's lips. She wakes up.

Now whom is she going to marry?
The far walker says. "Without me, that blighter could not have gone there and brought the medicine."
The far seer says, "If I did not locate it, where would you be walking? You would still be walking, looking for it."
Then they decide to leave it to the girl.
She says, "I will marry this boy who was weeping here."
And they are astonished.
They said, "Why? We made you alive."
She said, "Yes, you gave me the medicine which brought me to life. You are like my father because you have given me life. This man, with all his love for me, went and brought the medicine for me. He behaved like my brother. He is my brother. I cannot marry him. This man is my lover, because he spent all the time weeping of my grave here. He is my husband."
And she marries him.

Q: Why do you think the girl chose the boy who stayed weeping at her side as her husband, even though he did nothing obvious to bring her back to life?

Q: Why were the others astonished that she chose him?

O, Master!
Thou art the real goal of human life.
We are yet but slaves of wishes
Putting bar to our advancement,
Thou art the only God and power
To bring us up to that stage.
