Yoga means the union of the individual human consciousness with the Ultimate, cosmic, Divine consciousness. The word has its origin in Sanskrit, the ancient language of India, and means "to yoke; to join together; union."

In our present time we have an extraordinary assortment of techniques and practices that can open our awareness and inspire us in our quest. With a whole spectrum of yogas being taught these days - hatha yoga, kundalini yoga, laya yoga to name just a few - a spiritual aspirant can become frustrated and confused in their endeavor, or can be endlessly entertained with the variety of practices available, thus losing focus of their real goal.
