Heartfulness International Sports Center - Highlights of 2023

Dear Heartfulness family,

As we begin 2024, with joy we share the accomplishments of the Heartfulness International Sports Center (HISC). This year was one of growth, collaboration, and great performances by our talented young athletes.

1. Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy:

Inaugurated on March 1, 2023, the Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy at HISC has grown from six students to a thriving community of 40 young athletes. On April 1 we started a weekly exchange program with Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Gachibowli. This has improved our athletes' training experience. There is representation of students from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and more.

Achievements:

Our hard-working athletes have been successful in several tournaments. Our milestones include participants winning at district, state, and national levels with some of them securing All India rankings and state championships. We are proud to announce the winners:

Pradyumna: Karnataka State U-15 mixed doubles runner-up.

Manvitha: Hyderabad District U-15 doubles winner and qualified for Mani Draw in All India Ranking tournament.

Pranjitha: Assam State U-15 singles third place.

Geetansh: Karnataka Main State U-15 mixed doubles bronze medalist.

Kaviya and Nanmathi: Pondicherry State U-19 doubles winner and women’s singles runner-up.

Shreyansh: Chhattisgarh State U-15 boys singles winner.

Divyansh: Chhattisgarh State U-17 boys singles and doubles runner-up, U-17 mix doubles runner-up.

Utsav Agrawal: Chhattisgarh State U-13 singles and doubles champion.

Niraj and Divyansh: Secured Bronze in All India ranking tournament.

2. Summer Camps and Tournaments:

HISC offered two-month summer camps for both badminton and swimming. Sixty children enrolled in badminton and 25 in swimming. The camps concluded with a tournament that received good participation from students and positive feedback from parents. HISC also organized the ninth Telangana State Badminton Championship from June 22 to 24.

3. Distinguished Visitors:

Throughout the year, HISC welcomed inspiring sports personalities, including P.V. Sindhu and Ravi Shastri, government dignitaries, and state and union ministers, who motivated and inspired our athletes.

4. THLC and KCC Sports Program:

HISC started a sports program for The Heartfulness Learning Center and the Kanha Coaching Centre to foster comprehensive growth. One hundred and twenty THLC students and 50 KCC students enrolled, and the successful program offered a variety of options in sports to promote physical health, resulting in more than 500 students engaging in sports. HISC continues to impact different communities and nurture a generation that is healthy, active, and robust.

2023 has been a great year for us. We are very grateful to beloved Daaji, our hard-working management, tireless coaches, and diligent staff, and most importantly the young stars who have made this past year such an outstanding success.
