Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM)
Shri Ram Chandra Mission (the Mission) is a non-profit corporation and is registered as a tax-exempt organization under section 501-C3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal Identification Number is 23-7336143. The Mission is also registered as a tax-exempt organization in California, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio, and Texas.
Shri Ram Chandra Mission is a humanitarian organization, which promotes spiritual development through the practice of meditation and other techniques. The Mission does not charge any fess and its services are available to all, irrespective of race, nationality, religion, gender, or any other distinguishing criterion.
The Mission has a presence in almost every country in the world, with a total of more than 1500 training centers. In the United States there are about 3000 active participants.
SRCM is also affiliated to the United Nations with common goals of Human Integration and promoting universal love and peace.
The Mission, in addition to the yogic training of each and every interested seeker, initiates, implements, and involves itself in various community activities in the United States that foster communal development, harmony, and integration. Some of these activities include:
- sponsoring special events to help individuals cope with their lives and strengthen their inner selves
- sponsoring workshops for the purpose of creating awareness of yoga, meditation and Sahaj Marg
- building meditation centers where people could learn meditation and practice meditation on an on-going basis
- publishing books and articles to articulate the idea of spirituality, universal brotherhood, and meditation
- offering scholarship programs for students from third world countries to pursue research in yoga and related fields
- offering meditation training as an organization to interested individuals in universities in the United States
- Building shelters for humanity that will serve conduct many of the above indicated activities and also support research on “Value Based Education”, healthy living and character development in youth and educators.
In India, there have been opportunities for extended activities such as:
- fighting social evils like caste and dowry system through marriages conducted at meditation centers
- creation of medical centers to provide health care of underprivileged sections of the society
- free food at the meditation centers throughout the country
- promotion of value based education in schools that includes creation of courses and training of faculty members for such teaching
In addition to voluntary donations by members of the mission, the following organizations have helped foster the above activities.
- a grant from Sam’s Club Foundation
- registered at eight universities in United States to help students and faculty members
- Corporate Gift Matching Programs from Microsoft, Meijers, Wells Fargo, Chubb, Chase etc..
